Abstract

This study aims to analyze the patterns of intercultural and interfaith communication, as well as the religious behaviors of the community in Kuripan Hamlet, Rempek Darussalam Village, Gangga District, North Lombok Regency. Kuripan Hamlet is inhabited by a community with diverse religious backgrounds that nonetheless maintains a harmonious and tolerant social life. The study employs a qualitative descriptive method, utilizing data collection techniques such as observation, interviews, and documentation. Research informants include religious leaders, community figures, and residents involved in the socio-religious life of Kuripan Hamlet. Data analysis was conducted through data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results indicate that the communication patterns prevailing in the community are primary communication and circular communication. Primary communication is evident in direct interactions utilizing language, symbols, and actions that are mutually understood across religious lines. Meanwhile, circular communication is manifested through continuous feedback within social interactions, fostering mutual understanding and harmonious relationships. These findings demonstrate that effective communication is a crucial factor in maintaining harmony and strengthening social integration within the multicultural community of Kuripan Hamlet.
